Sleeveless Knights Templar Tunic in Recycled Cotton

"When marching under harsh sun, a warrior requires unencumbered arms and cloth that breathes freely over iron harness." Osric, Keeper of the Hearth & Forge

Steeped in the martial heritage of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, this sleeveless surcoat reflects the iconic raiment of the Knights Templar. Emblazoned with the bold red cross – the solemn mark of faith, sacrifice, and duty – the garment is tailored specifically for campaign conditions where fluid movement is paramount.

Woven from recycled cotton derived from repurposed textile cuttings, the cloth provides dependable breathability whilst actively reducing waste and water consumption. Because it is spun from reclaimed fibres, each piece displays subtle, natural variations in texture and weave, lending the fabric an honest, lived-in character appropriate for the encampment. Reinforced stitching throughout the seams ensures the garment stands up to repeated combat drills, theatrical staging, and the rigours of prolonged LARP gatherings.

Function takes precedence in the cut. By dispensing with sleeves, this pullover tunic affords complete arm mobility and superior airflow during vigorous exertion. The open neckline allows for swift donning, whilst the relaxed silhouette layers smoothly over chainmail or padded gambesons without binding. Deep slits at both the front and sides permit clean strides, stance transitions, and horseback mounting without gathering at the waist.

When returning from the field, care for this tunic by washing in cold water on a gentle cycle with mild detergent, avoiding bleach, and drying on low or open air to maintain the weave for many campaigns ahead.
