"A proper toast after hard campaigning tastes sweetest from honest horn, not brittle glass." Osric, Keeper of the Hearth & Forge
Shaped from genuine ox horn, this trio of drinking vessels brings traditional craftsmanship to the feast table. Each horn is thoroughly polished to seal against leaks, preserving the natural grain, rich pigmentation, and curved profile while ensuring a smooth interior safe for cool ale, cider, or mead. Holding roughly 100 ml (3.4 oz), these cups are sized for sharing draughts around the hearth, ceremonial toasts, or adding authentic rustic presence to an encampment display.
Because natural ox horn is shaped by nature rather than a cast mould, every horn possesses distinct variations in colour, striations, and thickness. Over seasons of campaign use, minor surface fissures may appear, marking the honest aging of raw horn.
To safeguard your horn vessels across many gatherings, heed proper field maintenance. Never subject these horns to boiling water or modern dishwashers, as intense heat will warp and crack the organic material. Restrict your libations to cold or room-temperature beverages, avoiding acidic draughts that dull the polished surface. Clean them solely by hand, taking care never to soak them, and wipe them thoroughly dry immediately after use. An occasional dressing of food-safe oil or beeswax will nourish the horn and restore its deep lustre. Packed securely within the provided cotton canvas drawstring bag, this set remains sheltered on the march, ready for the next victory toast.
