"A Norseman’s blade was never merely an instrument of war; it was his rank, his lineage, and his standing forged into steel." Osric, Keeper of the Hearth & Forge
Drawn from historical Scandinavian forms of the ninth and tenth centuries, this reproduction honours the legacy of Norse chieftains. Swords of this era served as heirloom pieces, buried alongside honoured warriors to mark their deeds. This thirty-seven-inch sword captures that heritage with a broad, polished high-carbon steel blade forged to authentic Viking proportions.
The hilt furniture reflects historical grave finds, featuring a curved crossguard and a lobed pommel formed in solid brass. Together with the blade, the assembly weighs roughly two kilograms, giving it a commanding presence whether slung from a belt or mounted upon a hall wall. It comes paired with a fitted, hand-stitched leather scabbard trimmed with brass mounts to protect the polished metal.
Take heed of its intended purpose: this weapon is shaped purely for decorative displays, historical attire, theatrical props, and living history events. It is neither intended nor built for striking, cutting, or the shocks of active combat. Treat the steel with the discipline of an arming room. Keep it stored in dry quarters away from damp air, wipe it down with a soft cloth after handling, and maintain a light coat of protective oil across the blade to hold rust at bay.
