"A soldier who must clutch his scabbard on the march is half-blind to danger; keep your steel harnessed close and your hands ready for work." Osric, Keeper of the Hearth & Forge
Built from resilient 3 to 3.2 mm thick genuine leather, this frog provides the stout rigidity required of honest campaign gear. In historical garrisons and field companies, warriors relied on heavy hide that would resist stretching, keeping the weapon drawn close to the hip rather than swinging wild whilst walking, riding, or standing sentinel.
Crafted for versatile service, the frog incorporates three adjustable buckles across the throat, allowing you to calibrate the grip precisely to your weapon's scabbard width. This tripartite fastening distributes the weight cleanly, arresting awkward tilt and dangling on the march.
Two distinct iterations are available to match your harness: brown leather paired with solid brass buckles that resist rust and mature into a handsome, aged patina, or dyed black leather outfitted with nickel-plated buckles for superior corrosion resistance and a sharp finish.
Fit the carrier securely onto your favourite war belt or baldric for reenactment, stage combat, or LARP. Because each piece is handmade from natural hides, slight variations in grain and tone are standard marks of genuine craft. Maintain the leather by storing it away from dampness and prolonged sun, wiping it clean with a lightly dampened cloth, and treating it with conditioner periodically to preserve its temper.
